Book summary:
Theodore Finch is fascinated by death, and he constantly thinks of ways he might kill himself. But each time, something good, no matter how small, stops him. Violet Markey lives for the future, counting the days until graduation, when she can escape her Indiana town and her aching grief in the wake of her sister’s recent death. When Finch and Violet meet on the ledge of the bell tower at school, it’s unclear who saves whom. And when they pair up on a project to discover the “natural wonders” of their state, both Finch and Violet make more important discoveries: It’s only with Violet that Finch can be himself—a weird, funny, live-out-loud guy who’s not such a freak after all. And it’s only with Finch that Violet can forget to count away the days and start living them. But as Violet’s world grows, Finch’s begins to shrink. This is an intense, gripping novel perfect for fans of Jay Asher, Rainbow Rowell, John Green, Gayle Forman, and Jenny Downham from a talented new voice in YA, Jennifer Niven.
In all honesty I could write a book about this book. There is so much to say and do to make you read it. But I won't. Not because I'm selfish like that, but because I want you to discover it on your own. This is one of those books you don't need to read anything about, just pick it up and you won't be able to stop. I guarantee you!

In the meantime I want to tease you a bit, so here is my favorite quote from the book:
What if life could be this way? Only the happy parts, none of the terrible, not even the mildly unpleasant. What if we could just cut out the bad and keep the good? This is what I want to do with Violet - give her only the good, keep away the bad, so that good is all we ever have around us.
If you want to know more about this book head over to Goodreads and you'll find plenty, but if you want to feel magic of it then pick up the book! That's where it's hidden. In beautify writing and sweet words of Theodore and Violet! Two people you'll start carrying for after this book.

And while you at it, just remember to look around. We all carry our burdens but some might need help with theirs. So pick them up. Remember

Rating: 5 stars!

  6. Tanja, this is so beautiful! I haven't read All The Bright Places (yet!), but you've certainly made me ever more excited to hurry up and get myself a copy. I do worry that the hype surrounding it is going to make it less splendid than I would otherwise find it, or hope for it to be, but I'll never know if I don't try, right?! xx

I have it on my TBR and I have just hear so much amazing stuff about it... the characters and the storyline alike, even though I know the subject matter is going to be some tough things to deal with.
