Book summary:

Some things are worth waiting for…

Traveling thousands of miles from home to enter college is the only way nineteen-year-old Avery Morgansten can escape what happened at the Halloween party five years ago—an event that forever changed her life. All she needs to do is make it to her classes on time, make sure the bracelet on her left wrist stays in place, not draw any attention to herself, and maybe—please God—make a few friends, because surely that would be a nice change of pace. The one thing she didn’t need and never planned on was capturing the attention of the one guy who could shatter the precarious future she’s building for herself.

Some things are worth experiencing…

Cameron Hamilton is six feet and three inches of swoon-worthy hotness, complete with a pair of striking blue eyes and a remarkable ability to make her want things she believed were irrevocably stolen from her. She knows she needs to stay away from him, but Cam is freaking everywhere, with his charm, his witty banter, and that damn dimple that’s just so… so lickable. Getting involved with him is dangerous, but when ignoring the simmering tension that sparks whenever they are around each other becomes impossible, he brings out a side of her she never knew existed.

Some things should never be kept quiet…

But when Avery starts receiving threatening emails and phone calls forcing her to face a past she wants silenced, she has no other choice but to acknowledge that someone is refusing to allow her to let go of that night when everything changed. When the devastating truth comes out, will she resurface this time with one less scar? And can Cam be there to help her or will he be dragged down with her?

And some things are worth fighting for…

That awkward moment when the actual blurb will be longer than your review! No really, I haven't read the blurb and just now I realized how long it was. But anyway I should tell you something about Cam I guess.

I believe that Jennifer is capable of creating a lot of things in books. Let's say she managed to combine Greek mythology with the almost everyday life in Covenant, then she managed to create appealing Luxens aka aliens and so on. But I believe that for one she is a master in creating swoon-worthy boys. Let's face it we have my husband aka Aiden, then Daemon and now Cam. There is probably more of them but I'm yet to get into her new adult books. We should focus on Cam and his story here. He is a typical student who lives we can say typical student life. Of course his past wasn't so bright but he moved on and continued living his life. Then we have Avery, the girl who just wanted to get away from her past but the problem is the past won't let her go. She still has to deal with a lot of things and she must do it alone because the ones who should be by her side picked another side. Even though she starts her student life normally once when the things get to complicated she must fight again, but this time is is not alone.

If you expect something new, original and whatnot well this might not be for you. But if you want to enjoy and readable story with lots of emotions and like I said swoon-worthy guy you should start reading this book. I really liked the story and enjoyed most part of it, but I couldn't help feeling that some parts of the story were simply cliche, even predictable. But still nice and readable story it is.

Rating: 4 stars.

Until the next time,

    2. That is exactly why I don't read blurbs AT ALL, Tanja! They tend to give away the story and then what's the point in reading the book. I like lots of emotions and I will read this one soon! Just like Janhvi said, fabulous review!

  2. I agree that this book isn't exactly anything new, but it was still a lot of fun to read. I just loved Cam! JLA really is brilliant at creating swoon-worthy guys!

And what's this about Aiden being your husband? I WILL fight you for him, Tanja. ;)

  3. The plot does sound like a lot of other NA books, but I have to admit that i'm a sucker for the usual cliche.

  5. Hahahaha that is a really long blurb! It would likely be longer than my review as well. Fail:) I agree completely, Jennifer Armentrout has a gift for writing hugely appealing love interests and sexy scenes that have me shooting glares at my husband because he doesn't say things nearly as romantic as these fictional boys do ;-) I don't need this one to bring anything new to the table, I just want to be entertained and it sounds like that won't be a problem!

    1. Yeah big fail! :) LOL Yeah unfortunately boys/men aren't as romantic as these fictional. That's why I love them so much :) Then you'll enjoy this one :)

  6. I agree!! I did enjoy it, but it was really nothing new. And sometimes predictable. And if I am honest, Cam wasn't really realistic in my eyes. But then again, maybe because I lost every hope of man-kind race. Boh. Anyway, great review!! ;)

  9. I laughed so hard when you said the awkward moment the blurb is long that the review. lol It is a lengthly blurb. I can handle predictability and cliche stories if they are fun and entertaining, which this one sounds to be. :)

  10. I find this is usually the case with Armentrout's adult novels - very predictable and cheesy, but a ton of fun nevertheless. I've enjoyed her Gamble Brothers trilogy, although, again, it's SO predictable. Still, this is perfect for a relaxing read!(:

    1. This was my first no-YA novel of Armentout's. I usually read only her YA things but then it's really perfect for relaxing :)
