Book summary:
"I feel like I am wrapped in a cyclone. Everything is whirling around me, drawing the air out of my lungs and filling me with the best kind of turmoil. Every time his tongue slides against mine, a prickle in my gut tells me how right we are together. How much I need David. How much I need us.
I hope the cyclone never stops.
Emma Searfoss has spent a lifetime trying to escape her abusive stepfather. It's why she moved far away from home. It's why she's kept no ties with her remaining family. And it's why she's got a major rage problem. When her neighbor shows up to fix the kitchen in her new apartment, his enigmatic charm calms the fire in her. David is cool and collected, and he makes Emma feel safe for the first time ever. But David has his own chilling past—his six previous girlfriends have all disappeared without a trace. Emma's walking a dangerous line, but David's pull is intoxicating. And impossible to resist…"
Oh, boy... What was that?
I am so happy that I got a chance to read Push by Claire Wallis - not only that it has completely unexpected and fresh premise in the ever growing pile of new adult novels that get to be published every day, but also it has that twisted and dark feeling that I love so much.
Why should you read it?
If you are in that group of readers that thinks how we need more diversity in new adult genre, I think you'd appreciate this book. I seriously do not know with which book to compare it because I have never read something like this before but I believe that everyone who enjoyed TV shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Weeds, Six Feet Under - storylines that feature a lot of weird plot twists and anti-heroes we should hate, but end up rooting for them.
You will stay up until the wee hours and anxiously bite your nails off (I do not recommend that you do your manicure before reading this book - you will ruin it). Some things that you will read will leave you completely speechless and you'd wonder are you crazy or or characters or the author.
Apparently, this is first book in the series.
Do not panic! Everything will hopefully be explained and we would get more details about Emma and David. I can't wait for next novel and I really hope that you will join me in my fangirling over this rather unusual story.
Happy reading,

Twisted and dark? You sold me! I so want to read this one now Glass!
OdgovoriIzbrišiOh wow, this sounds kind of awesome. I'm so curious about the girlfriends who vanish!
OdgovoriIzbrišiOh it sounds nice, mainly to have something different in NA. I haven't read a lot of books in this genre yet but I want to. Great review.
OdgovoriIzbrišiSo curious about this one, Glass. I DO love an anti-hero I'm supposed to hate, but for whatever reason cannot manage to do so. Thanks for putting it on my radar ;)

I'm definitely curious about this one! Most of the New Adult that I've read has been pretty similar in a lot of respects, so I'd be interested in seeing what else this genre has to offer. Thanks for the recommendation!
OdgovoriIzbrišiHearing about a new spin on the NA series sounds great
OdgovoriIzbrišiOoo twisted and dark AND there's an anti-hero? YES TO THIS BOOK!!! I love the dark ones and I love to root for an anti-hero even more, there's just something about wondering if the next chapter is going to be the one where he does something unforgivable that appeals to me. In a sick, glutton for punishment kind of way:)
OdgovoriIzbriši"If you are in that group of readers that thinks how we need more diversity in new adult genre, I think you'd appreciate this book." Instant add to the TBR, I'm in. I love a darker sort of book and have been looking for some different things in NA.
OdgovoriIzbrišiThis sounds like a pretty interesting read and it's always nice when a book steps outside of the norm. Great review!

Glass, I've never heard of this book before, but seriously, you've got me wanting to read it right away. Anti-heroes, you say? I'm a fan of good guys, but I do enjoy reading books with anti-heroes from time to time.
OdgovoriIzbrišiLovely review! I'll be looking out for this one.
I love that this was twisted and dark and wahoo to fresh NA!!
OdgovoriIzbrišiIt is so nice to find something new, isn't it? I have to say, you have me intrigued, Glass. Thanks for the review!
OdgovoriIzbrišiOooh, I'm pretty interested in reading about anti-heroes. They're really fascinating for me, because they're usually more complex. I can't wait!
