Expected publication: July 6th
Book summary:
Sophie has always felt out of step—an outsider, even amongst
friends in her high school with all the hype about celebrity culture. Her life
in L.A. seems to have been already written for her, but when her junior year
starts, it all takes a drastic turn. When she crosses paths with the school's
heartthrob, Nate Werner, they fall for each other in a way neither can
understand. What they don’t know is that by giving in to their desires, they
are unlocking an ancient Egyptian prophecy that threatens to return Earth to
the dark ages.
To undo the curse, Nate and Sophie embark on an adventure that takes them across the country. But their quest is not only to save the world as they know it. It is also a fight for their very survival. Behind the scenes, there are those that are counting on them to fail.

Author interview
Hi Teresa. Welcome to Ja čitam, a ti?. Thank you for
this interview. We're happy to have you here today.
1. Can you tell us something about your first novel - The
Year of the Great Seventh?
It is about two teenagers in L.A. who are connected to an
Egyptian prophecy that predicts the end of the world. The novel is set in L.A.
and New York.
I started typing a short story one night for no good reason,
so I'm not sure where the inspiration came from. It probably came out of
boredom.
3. Recently I've discovered that this will be a series.
So can you tell us how many books you have in plan?
I'm planning to write a trilogy. I think three will be
enough to tell Nate and Sophie's story, but you never know! I already have a
rough draft of the second one, so I hope I can publish it by next summer.
4. Something more about you - When did you decide to become
an author? Is there someone who inspired you to write?
I never made a conscious decision to become an author. To
tell the truth, I don't actually consider myself one. I feel more comfortable
with the "storyteller" tag. It happened almost by mistake. After I
wrote that short story, I wanted to know what happened to Sophie and Nate, so I
decided to write the novel. Since I ended up with an entire manuscript, I
thought "Why not try to get it published?"
5. What's your favorite book or author?
I have many favorite books and authors, but the book I
enjoyed the most in the last couple of months was Me Before You by
Jojo Moyes.
6. What do you do in your free time?
When I have time off, which is not very often, I like
hanging out with my friends or going out for a nice meal. My favorite hobby is
gymnastics. I'm not very good at it since I started doing it in my
mid-twenties, but I absolutely love it. There's something cool about doing
flips and being upside down.
7. Is there something you want to tell to our readers? or if
you want to share your favorite quote?
The Year of the Great Seventh will be out on July 6th! And
one of my favorite quotes is, "You have to take risks. We will only
understand the miracle of life fully when we allow the unexpected to
happen." - Paulo Coelho.

IzbrišiI'm so impressed that she was able to start gymnastics as an adult! I would probably be awful if I tried it, but I'm sure it's a great way to unwind. What a lovely quote from Paolo Coelho. I hadn't heard of this one but now I'm definitely intrigued. Fantastic interview, thanks for sharing!

Izbrišilol. I didn't see the ancient Egyptian prophecy but I LIKE it (: It's great that she just stumbled into being an author/ a "storyteller" (I agree that storyteller sounds better than author). Great interview (:
OdgovoriIzbrišiNeither did I but yeah it's there :) I agree too :) Thanks :)
